The European Commission has selected for funding the project “CAPABLE” submitted by Dr. Roberto Osellame, Senior Researcher at the Istituto di Fotonica e Nanotecnologie (IFN) of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR). The project has been funded within the European Research Council-ERC Advanced grant 2017 Call. As co-beneficiary, the Quantum Information Lab will be directly involved in the research activities.
The main objective of CAPABLE is the development of a new integrated photonic platform for the manipulation of information according to the laws of quantum mechanics.
The proposed research activity is functional to the more general objective of EC to develop new technologies based on quantum physics, as shown by the recent announcment of a Flagship project on ‘quantum technologies’.
